A New Creation
A subtly aching sin
Submerged beneath the skin
Its origin is long forgotten
But its embers burn within
If left untamed it grows
Its prey suff’ring the blows
A heart that just can’t heal
Always trying not to feel
Its only hope the truest love
A love descended from above,
Which shines through those who claim its power
To heal the wounds of darkest hours
And when the love shines in
It penetrates the sin
Renewing through and through
So Christ lives on in you
The old man gone, you’re born anew
You’re blameless before God; it’s true
All the cracks have been filled in
More perfect than you’ve ever been
