THE NEW GUY

THE NEW GUY

SPOKEN WORD POETRY

When he came along

My heart was tired of loving

My mind and my thoughts had become weary

I was lost in my own world

Love was just another chapter

Doomed with scars

Until he came my way

You see

He taught to say I love you with a meaning

But not carried by the feeling

He taught me to think of others

And not myself

He taught me to be brave

Not lagging behind my troubles

He taught me to love myself first

Before love others

He taught me to be patient

Even when things were not going my way

He taught me never to sleep

While my mind and heart were unease

He taught me to let out my pains and sorrows

Each time I felt the world on my shoulders

You see each second I spend with him

Timeless it is

Speechless I am

Breathless he leaves me

An adventure he is

Always learning new destinations

My heart craves for his presence

For he is my essence

I wanna journey a life by his side

I wanna explore new destinations

With him being my guide

Perfect he is

Mine to keep
