new kid

You're the new kid

walk through the doors of the unknown

open your eyes

and watch with your heart

as you will discover

it wont be long before you recover

a new reputation

a new salvation

in your new home

you will have grown

more then you thought possible

trust your eyes, for it is your heart that creates the vision

look back and realize

this move has been the greatest decision

I was a new kid, I came from Tennessee and moved to Illinois my freshman year of highschool. I hope this poem can help speak to people who have also gone through a move because it is them who will truly understand the difficulty and the absolute self accomplishment you feel when creating a happy life at your new home.
