A New Life

This new life

The world anew.

In this conjunction of misfits.

I am a misfit no more.

This world

That has new softer colours in it.

That is a luring and all the more

Feels softer on the skin.

Like warm blankets and kitten paws.

 That dark hole of abyss

That I'd stare into, to understand oblivion

To feel peace in its cold clutches

Are slowly unclenching

So much so that those dark holes are fading

To give way to new dark circles

Circles of the guitar behind the strings.

While the musical hand holds the pics move frantically

Frantically making melody that paints a picture of its own

Feeling peace at its warm clutches

 The heart beats erratic

 Afraid of peculiarity

Like a rabbit in crosshairs, it beats frantically.

And somewhere that rabbit crawls into a rabbit hole...

And lets its heartbeat calms to a rhythm...

A Rhythm in sync with the deep reverberations of the percussion drums.

As I walk in the crowd

that singular high pitched breathless shriek

that shriek that does nothing but fills my ears and makes me crawl inside myself

is slowly sounds clear, as every other noise dissolves in smoke, it slowly sounds clear

what were shrieks are her simple giggling as her ear to ear smile becomes clear

what was every fake friend's grand advice

the ones laced with "It's a phase", "you'll get over it", "you just have to go about it a different way"

the ones that made me shut my ears, run away shouting "go fuck yourself"

by friends who make me feel so small so that they can stamp me out of existence.

Have given ways into these,

these beautiful silk sheets that were all woven on stages like these.

By friends who make me feel so small so that they can water me and nurse me to great size.

It is safe to say that I have found my Narnia,

My escape from the real world,

except this is real and doesn't involve hallucinating talking lions.
