New Listing: Home For Sale

A secret cannot be kept on those creaking stairs

And the trim of the door will remind you of the shirt he wore

When he said I love you

And the keypad to get inside is puzzling just like him

The windows are worn like his eyes

And the mailbox is crooked just like your relationship

But you walk into a small room

Past the flipped table

And a stranger passed out on the couch

And throughout the clutter of guitar chords

And empty whiskey bottles

You feel safe

Because you’re with him

And you built your home within him

Not in the dark house on sunset lane.
