A New Love

When she fell I could not tell

The words spilt on the screen from her heart

There she sat in silence

He could not comprehend the way he hurt her

Only that he stole her heart

Her love

And now all that is left is depression

The aftertaste

He loved her, just like he said

She knew and thought it in her head

Those words that were put together tore her apart

'Because I love you'

The four words he would say

Again and again repeated like a password into her head

Now here she sits as I pray

I love her, but not in his way

He would only have her at his say

Now maybe she can know LOVE

The real kind

The kind that is understanding and does not give orders

The type I have come to know

Through friends, sisters, brothers

People who want to help each other grow

This is the kind I hope she will know
