This New Me

When I look in the mirror it's not me that I see.

It's scars and stretch marks and fat underneath.

It used to not be this way but time just went by.

I'd take a quick look and say I'll be alright.

But now it is different and I ask myself why.

If I loved my body then why didn't I exercise.

I can tell you I was busy or I didn't know how

But I was kidding myself and look at me now.

I'm not overly big by any kind of means

But when I look in the mirror it's not me that I see.

So for now on when I get a little break

I'll do a little lunge or drink a healthy shake.

I'll run on nice days and eat a small salad

And even if I lose one pound I'll sing a great ballad

Because no matter how I look big or small

Taking care of myself is the best thing of all.
