A New Me

When I was a child, I was out of control.

I didn't listen to ma or pa, and I disobeyed the law.

When I was a child, I ate a lot of junk.

And when my mom said no, my heart kind of sunk.

When I was a teen, I made a lot of friends.

When high school became hard, fitting in became the trend.

When I was a teen, I thought love was found.

But soon we fell apart, and he decided not to stick around.

During my senior year, I learned a lot about myself.

I found my identity, and tucked all my worries away on the shelf.

After a lot of growth, I have realized what I truly want in life.

Taking a step back, to love those around me, and avoid the strife.
