New Memories

One night the world was ending

It seems like so long ago

That night was far from end or beginning

But it is the most precious memory I know

One day I said goodbye

Yet we parted without a word

I know your silence was a lie

but it's the hardest truth I ever heard

One time you said you love me

I took it as a vow

But I guess you wanted to be free

because all I have is memory now

One night my world was ending

Not so long ago

That night was not the end or the beginning

Something I hoped but didn't know

One day I said hello again

That was when we made things right

Our feelings were once again made plain

But there was fear when you were not in sight

One time I said I love you

and I meant it as a vow

That time you said you love me too

It's my most precious memory now
