A New Perspective

He is a monster.
A demon beyond all human comprehension.

Look at the way he walks, he laughs, he cries.
Crying? Here? In the institution!
Not acceptable!

The way he openly dreams makes my skin crawl.
The endless sketches of kings and dragons.
(I’ve tried myself, and I can’t really get the
Scales to look that real.)

The way he walks through the hall with his ear buds at full blast.
Blasting some third world underground trash.

He’s free, obviously.

But here I am.
Bound, shackled, pinned to the ground.
Able to feel, but now allowed.
What I once called home has become my destiny,
And it sucks.

This polyester filth stuck to my flesh.
The jeering cries of a thousand prison wardens
Pretending to be my admirers.

The blinding lights and ear-splitting sirens slowly eat at my soul.
Ha, who am I kidding, I sold that back in eighth grade!

And now this kid thinks he can live happy?
His life Heaven on Earth?
He doesn’t know the first thing about pain.

I’ll show him…
