New Planet

So here we are

New world, new us

It’s been a while

Since we’ve fought

Maybe it’s the thrill of it all

Or maybe our priorities just switched

But hey

We’ve got time

Right?

We have a decision to make

Your kids ask what it looks like

My kids ask who’s going to be in charge

My friends don’t trust authority

Your friends feel the need to believe

Your family is liquidating everything

My family is trying to take it all with them

We have to tell them I’m not going

So here we are

The deciding point

The last ship before everything changes

I wish you well

You wish I would come

But we both know

At the end of this world

At the start of the new world

That what I’ve done

Is unforgivable

And who I’ve become

Has no place on your world
