A New Predator

Like a creature of the night out to play,

Only it is out in day.

Rather than kill it uses a trance,

Standing, Stillness, Silence.

Unmoving the creature mesmerizes,

Shows us every thing we fantasize.

Moving slowly forward,

To step inside a ward,

that houses our dream,

with a drop of poison in its cream,

But nothing is free,

And this is how it feeds.

We take our dream and leave,

The creature having fed on our revere.

We walk down the street,

Simply to run into another.
