New Years Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions

Two thousand fifteen is gone,

Two thousand sixteen is here.

So will there be joy in the New Year,

Or will there be mostly fear?

It greatly depends on what our leaders do.

And what the people decide to believe.

Will our leaders decide to be truthful,

Or mostly decide to deceive.

And will our leaders provide solutions,

Or will they merely only give us hope?

Or will the populous reach for its own solutions?

Or will it merely group?

But whatever we decide to do,

I hope that when two thousand and sixteen is through,

I will still be here, and so will you.
