New Year’s Eve

We spend a day to recall pain

Catastrophes we can't explain

Those we've lost, choices we regret

Things we'd otherwise forget

We blame hardships on a span of time

But the year itself has committed no crime

It's us who cause the war and hate

But it's more fun to celebrate

And say the year will make us new

With goals and plans we'll never do

Just wait a day and we'll return

To the same life, for we don't learn

Now 2k17 sits behind bars

Cuz we can't admit the fault is ours.
