New York in a child's eyes

The world is a lonely place for a child so small,

Everyone is big and scary,

Men are angry shadows tall.

Click, click, click go the heels of shoes,

walking down the avenue.

She looks around and sees the lights,

shining on the marquee so bright

She skips down the street,

people on her heels, but still light on her feet.

The taxis honk and streetlights flash,

Buskers sing in the streets for cash.

What a sight to see for eyes so young!

Grown-ups forget, being so high strung,

The beauty of the city that doesn't sleep.

Sometimes the view of what a child will see,

is all there really needs to be.
