New York State Of Mind
the air drops deep as does my thoughts. i don't try to make friends cause most of these people bots. beyond the walls of reality, life is defined. i think of life when i'm in a new york state of mind. life always ties us in knots and always leaves us by our selves while we try to connect some dots. maybe we will find our own spot our own mark on a map like our own dot. in a new york state of mind. what more could you ask for? to find the one you love just to open the door. you complain about life i gotta love it though - everyone acts like they don't but trust me they don't know i'm rappin' to the thought, and i'm gonna shoot my shots. dim, bright, depressed, holy hell my life's a mess. i can't take the death, can't take the pain. i guess i tried to sleep but i guess i got on the wake train. i'm rappin' quit a lot and all this is made of thought yea, yah, in a new york state of mind. when i was young my friends and i really didn't have to care. they kicked me out of our club i never thought that kind of bond could tear. i never thought i'd see the ones i loved the most so unaware ain't a soul alive in that time that i could even bear. life is like a ring of gas trust me you'll understand. it's your choice to light it up or wait just standin there. if you do you'll never know what's really out there. but i mean who really would care, maybe memories are just wasted time after all maybe it's just a new york state of mind.
