Newborn bird

A mother bird in her nest

hopes for her children to do nothing less

than to strive

the oldest bird

the one needed to take charge

lacks intelligence

size

esxpected to strike 1st

the mother bird

when she sees fit

send her little bird on her way

to soar into the the blue porch

thier wings running across the clouds

or they drop like stones

like a prideful lion caught in a trap

the oldest bird

not ready for his trials

cuddles back into his mother's care
