Newfound Identity

The ocean waters calmly sway beneath my feet,

their cold touch reveals almost a warm welcome.

The onnocent, yet agressive, waves pulled me from my heights,

signaling my descent from standing on my feet to kneeling on my knees.

My newly deployed position

forces my eyes to stare upon the endless waves.

To my surprise, rather than seeing the reflection of a child's face,

I see the image of a young man

and beside him,

stood the olive tree,

where the wise owls now perch,

where the swan needs not sing her song,

where the sky no longer weeps in stormy darkness.
