Newly Tweleve

Newly twelve

Snuggling each night with a bear to hold

A phone ring pierces through the silence

Cries fill the once silent house

Two broken wrists

Two types of Cancer

Too many surgeries

Mother spends days in the hospital with Grandma…

Months Pass…

My room, Grandmas new hospital room

Another move, not enough room

Nearly thirteen, two weeks to go

A beloved one with so much light to give

Passes like the Montana winds

A broken heart, and a broken promise

A once bitter girl becomes sweet and strong

Strong for those who can’t

Sweet for those that are bitter

Giving light in remembrance of her idol

A girl grows to be a young woman
