Next Chapter

I have been handed a pen

Instructed to write the next chapter of my life

But the only words I seem able to conjure

Describe either unattainable fairytale or repulsive nonfiction

.

I must write before I live-

I must attain some semblance of a plan

(Plans are often altered, but are nonetheless necessary)

Life will move forward without heed to my plight

It will not wait for me to make up my mind-

What tragedy it would be to find the doors I wished to open

Locked from prolonged indecision

.

Oh what do I want, what do I want, what indeed?
