The Next Years

The start of a new year brings:

New responsibilities,

New dreams,

New goals.

Reaching for a star

And almost always falling.

Junior year is supposed to be the hardest.

Dreams of performing for people became so big,

I had to start performing in life.

Being better than who I was

Meant commitment;

Broadway meant commitment.

Commit to my mental state,

Commit to my health,

Commit to the rest of my life.

Growing up involves planning

The next two years of my life,

The rest of my life.

What I know now—

Plan,

Commit,

Take responsibility—

Is not what I knew two years ago.

And because of that, I am better.
