"Nice"

I hate everything.

I’m screaming on the inside

Crying on the inside

I keep pounding at walls that

Nobody can see

Except for my aching soul

My eyes are frantically searching

Every which way

Every which way

Every which way

For an exit that doesn’t exist

I’m trapped in conformity

Sure I can resist

But that’s not “right”

But where does “right” get you?

“Right” gets you a “nice” house in a suburb

With a “nice” husband and

A couple of “nice” kids

A perfectly “nice” life just like every other

Person who grew up

Doing the “right” thing

But I don’t want to be

Like every other person

I don’t want a “nice” house in a suburb with

A “nice” husband and

A couple of “nice” kids

Nice isn’t good enough

Nice isn’t good enough

Nice isn’t good enough

Right feels so wrong

But what other choice do I have?

Nothing.

There is nothing else
