Nice Boy

My mom sits across the table from me
She wants to know why I'm so sad
I tell her I don't want to talk about it

Why don't you go out?
She says
Why don't you have some fun?
Why don't you find a nice boy?

I did find a nice boy.
Nice boy smiled at me on the way to class.
Nice boy asked me to add him on Facebook
Nice boy ran into me again at the bowling alley
And the library
And the coffee shop
And the pool
And my dorm room lobby

Nice boy invites me to a party
I reluctantly accept
Nice boy offers to pick me up
I tell him no thank you
He insists
Nice boy takes me to the party
Nice boy gets me a drink
And another
And another
And another
Nice boy is getting blurry
Nice boy hasn't had as much as I have

Nice boy tells me I need to sit down
Nice boy brings me where no one can see me
Nice boy rips me open to inspect my insides
Nice boy spits out my protests
I choke on my tears
Something is burning and it's not the alcohol
I squeeze my eyes shut
Nice boy laughs at me

Nice boy isn't so nice anymore
