Nice Boys

You act as if I haven’t been living from one fix to another the past three years of my life.

You act as if I don’t know just how cold life is,

As if every morning when I get ready I don’t want to just, not be there.

Anywhere.

You act as if i don’t understand life in all its conniving little intricacies,

how I am myself around no one,

and I’ve pretended for so long that I don’t even know who I am anymore.

One girl doesn’t represent them all.

There will be more.

I promise.

And I know that’s not what you want to hear, but you have to believe me.

Your white princess doesn't love you, but I'm still here.

The world won’t end because the blonde hair and blue eyes isn’t yours this time.

I know one day it will be.

In the meantime, I want to make sure you’re okay.

You don’t need to worry about me, I’m fine.

You’re the main character, and no matter what you say that will always be the case.

Please don’t worry about me.

I’m sorry for ever making you feel like this.

I’m fine.

I am not your responsibility, and you shouldn’t have to make sure I’m okay.

I’m fine.

I just want to know I’ll see you tomorrow, and the day after that.

I just want you to believe me when I say that it will get better.

I’ll see you tomorrow, right?
