NICOTINE AND ALCOHOL

Addiction taking different courses Blue sky smokes grey People’s lives contorted Whipping wind Families ripped apart Lightening shatters the sky Alcohol drowns sorrows Rain cascades down Cigarettes to heal pain Thunder rolls in Different brands Pressing against an old oak door Acquired tastes Fresh falling rain fills the air Trying to develop old relationships Oak and rain make such a heavenly scent Giving up on blood Through the rain faint lights bounce off the drops Thrill of a needle Shimmering on a dark night It’s all downhill fighting.
