NIGERIA
1. Right from inception,
She's been manned by men of deception,
Who plunged her into malfunction,
That she no longer functions,
Among countries of action and substance,
Take for instance,
Her universities are not recongnized,
In the world best universites that are reconized,
Her education and medication,
Have gone into extinction.
2. She supplies others electricty,
Yet in darkness grope her cities,
She boast as African giant,
Yet lags behind in science.
In development?
She wobbles in disappointment,
She boast of modern facilities,
And amenities,
But her leaders fly abroad,
Tying the nation with poverty cord,
Just for mere ear ache and bellyache,
Or any body ache.
3.More than five decades,
She still decays,
In epileptic power supply,
Roads can't be plied,
Crippled money power,
As prices and poverty soar higher,
Her leaders develop pot bellies,
With the money hoarded in hidden valleys,
Others hide money in their backyards,
Refusing to pay pension money to limbs so tired,
4.My sound begins again,
My ryhme I have regained,
Don't ask why I lament for my country,
It's because we are all not free,
But manacled in self interest,
That blinds us from seeing the best,
In another tribe,
'Cos we are all prone to bribe,
And our conscience fried,
In deep hatred no matter how we tried.
5. These pot bellied politicians,
Act like magicians,
They sow in us seeds of discord,
Making us wallow in murky mud,
And as we fight one another,
They hoard money in bags of leather,
As we lock our heads like rams,
They watch and remain calm,
As we exchange bitter words on social sites,
They fly high like kites.
