Nigga!

Location

Ears react wide at the sound of this word from a White face,

We condemn it and protest, yet we claim this within our race.

We lay the tomes that tell stories of fights for our progress,

As we sink deeper into the sofa watching BET and regress.

Eyes react stunned at the sight of the status of Black families,

We question ourselves why, yet favor individual amenities.

We shut our eyes to the influence the media has a hold on us,

As we are bought and sold to Viacom heads stereotypes of us.

Mouths react with tremendous rage over the Clippers' issue,

We judge the owner, yet it is our words that allow this abuse.

We call each other niggas and say it is positive context,

As we forget who we are and become uncultured rejects.

Nerves react with fear, anger, sadness and confusion at assault,

We rush to point out injustice, yet live under the banner of an insult.

We degrade those aspiring to better themselves and call them "White washed",

As we endorse ignorance and become niggers, with a future now lost.

Noses react to the foulness of the word and the mouths that endorse it,

As we forget that it was once a bad word, yet we cling to it.

We hope through endorsement that the meaning will change,

As we change ourselves into niggers, on a self destructive campaign.

Five senses react alarmed to foul play and tragedy,

We unite on attacks of community, yet accept infamy.

We attack our intellectuals and rely on present false idols,

As we regress into modern day Black chattel.
