Nigger

You say nigger is a "term of endearment"

But get mad when another race

Invades your space

Using it towards you

Confused about your heritage

You embarass them

When they were trying to protect you

To fight for you

To embrace your future

And get rid of a term

That has nothing to do with you!

Instead of running from the word

You embrace it

Giving it life

Killing by discriminating

And letting it overpower, define

And abuse you!

When the ancestors embraced our futures

They had no idea...

Nigga was the word for you

It was a word

That discriminated them

And now you use it to discriminate, too?

If your Black friend can call you, nigger

Then your White friend should, too

If that is the name you answer to.

Nigger...properly spoken

Or slurred...is the SAME word!

"My Nigger" is what "massa" used to explain:

Who was his "property"

And now you use it, too?

Well, I apologize

If I offend you

But, I am NOT your property

Nor do I want to be owned by you!

You and I are the same

And if you want to be called, nigga

Then that can be YOUR name

But, don't feel ashamed

When other races call you that

Your name is recognized through the world

This is a fact

So, if there is someone or people

Who cannot call you, nigger

Then maybe that name

That "term of endearment"

Should NOT be preferred
