At night

I lay at night staring at the ceiling

The cliché of thoughts racing through my mind sounds all too common-- yet that is what's happening

I think of everything

I think of how I work 25 hour weeks saving up for a car and how it seems impossible

I think of how I'm saving for a car but I can barely afford college

I think of how someone’s favorite subject can be math but at the same time they can be so bad with money

Money

Money just seems liquid to me-- technically it is a liquid currency but that is beside the point

Money slips right through the cracks of my fingers no matter how tightly I clasp my hands together

Always pouring out of my pockets no matter how many times I sew it shut

I think about how money can dictate my life, dollar sign

I think of how it chooses what house I live in, loans

I think of how its dictates what neighborhood I am a part of, credit card

It chooses what activities I can attend or part take in, cash

*Clink* *clink*

Every penny freaking counts

I rather have left overs                 than buy a meal at a restaurant

I beg my mom to use her car        because having my own is still a dream

I only accept invites to go out to

eat with my brother if he agrees to pay

These are my thoughts at night

Invading my mind

But it just so happens I don’t even have enough money to complete this dollar sign

Cha-- freaking-- ching
