That Night

That Night

I have a question

Didn’t you think about what you were doing?

Couldn’t you read my facial expression?

Little did I know, you were slowly tattooing

your disgusting face into my mind.

Who knew that night would turn out so badly

Leaving no one happy

I screamed so loudly

You never deserved to be called Daddy

You left me there crying,

Communicating with the voices inside my head.

They told me to stop trying

and simply lay in my bed until I was dead.

I finally fell asleep,

But I dreamed all night.

You appeared to be a well put together man on the outside,

Big muscles, White Teeth, a Hair never out of place -

Who would’ve thought you were such a child on the inside.

Who knew that night would turn out so badly

Leaving no one happy

I screamed so loudly

I’m sick to my stomach knowing that I called you Daddy.

You’re like a big black dog that’s always following me around

I can never seem to get far enough away.

You’re like the parent in The Child Called It -

You think you deserve the Best Father crown,

but honestly, you’re making yourself out to be a clown

I hope that somebody gets the nerve to finally beat you down into the ground.

I certainly don’t want to make amends

I never want to see your face again.

Who knew that night would turn out so badly

Leaving no one happy

I screamed so loudly.

I’m finally able to sleep at night-

knowing that you are no longer my Daddy.
