The Night

A black beauty

She flies across the sky

Making way for her dark domain

Her children race behind

Leaving jeweled specks across a black canvas

As the domain darkens

The earth's people hide

This darkness,

They don't understand

They fear this unknown

Our black beauty sees this

She weeps and weeps

Why be afraid?

Can't they see,

The night is just as lovely as the day?

The black beauty runs

Leaving a trail of tear

And like little white ducklings,

Her children follow behind
