Night

Night

There was a lake that was reflected like a glass mirror,

There were stars that shone like drops of sun

There was a sky as black as burning ashes,

And the moon was the dying flame.

There were white lilies unfolded in the light of the stars,

Saluting their pure and spotless heads,

There was the wind that flew dangerous and powerful,

There were the silhouettes of the bare hands of the trees.

There were chilling cries that echoed through the valley

There were black mountains beneath the stars,

There was sand, cooled by the mild air of the night,

There was a wall, old and covered with greening moss.

There was a hunter’s moon shining like fire,

The stars saw the sky as its dying embers.
