That Night

The world seemed to stop;

When just for a moment, we glanced at each other

My surroundings began to fade away;

The only person that I saw was you

Your eyes were filled with longing and desire,

Your smile was reassuring

My cheeks became flooded with heat

And my curiosity grew immensely

You took my hand,

As if it were meant to be intertwined with mine

My heart raced as you wrapped your hands around my body

And I knew I was safe

You held me close to you;

And our bodies fit each other

Like if God-purposely-made us for each other

Making me feel secure

This fantasy that we created

Was pure and real

I held my breath

So that the fantasy wouldn’t be blown away

And all through my lifetime,

I will hold this memory

Of you and me;

Of the night that I believed in possibilities
