NIGHT
☆ She was scared of the night,
The dark used to take her breath away.
She hated when the daylight was over, and when it was no more bright.
She felt that the night always deceived, and darkness led astray.
One could think of her as Cinderella,
But without the kindness of a Fairy God Mother.
She got anxious as the clock struck 12; Midnight was her ultimate fear.
There was no stardust to her rescue,
Nor was she living a fairy tale.
There were no galloping horses; nor any grand ballèt was due.
Instead, there were rodents, and some pumpkins that were stale.
No royal carriage to take her to the castle,
No pretty dress with laces and tassels.
She feared the dark, as it heightened her despair.
Making her sob over her destiny and shed tears. . . . ☆ Nights scared her, until one day she discovered the northern lights.
The hues mesmerized her, she was caught in the moment.
That day she saw sky lanterns too, and some fireflies.
How they light up people's way in the dark; definitely a life worth spent.
Now there was no desire for stardust, since there was starlight.
The Northern star was shining so bright!
The reflection of the moon in the clear lake was dazzling,
The leaves were collecting dew drops, and were basking in the moonlight.
She no more feared the night, until she found solace in its silence.
Night time itself was magical, and upon her it cast a captivating spell. 💫🌠 - I've always adored night time. Hoping you all will like this poetic depiction! 💙 ~Tehzeeb
