That Night

Don’t give up yet, please don’t give in

I know you’re upset, but I know you can win

Your demons fight hard, but you can fight harder

You’re breaking my heart and I can’t watch much longer

I’ve lost someone once and I can’t lose you too

I was lost for months but then I met you

You have so much left here so much you can do

So don’t live in fear, I’ll always be with you

You’ll live to grow old and to see a new world

A sunset of gold and an ocean of pearls

Oh god please don’t go though and god say you’ll stay

Cause if you chose to go then I’ll fade away

I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything. I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college. I hope to publish a book someday as well (leave a comment if a poem speaks to you). P.S. My Instagram is @CottonCandyPoems
