Night

Nothing ever happens between us.

I try and try and try, but my words stick in my throat.

God knows how I feel, how I've felt

How can you torture me so?

The truth is I love you

I can't let you know I love you

Such an act would destroy us

How can such a beautiful thing pierce my soul?

Every time I see you it is if I am pierced with a thousand shards

Ripped open by your gaze

Exposed completely yet left to wallow in my misery

For you could never love me

One so broken and beated

Ruined

Many people have expressed their lack of love for me

Expression that rips me open...why would you be any different
