Night

The dazzling stars dance and twirl

In the dark veil of night

They dot the sky like beads of pearl

Lightening up my sight

The glowing moon smiles upon

The wolves howling at the inky sky

The children skipping back home with yawns

And the luster of a thousand fireflies

Lamp lights spring up everywhere

A radiant array of gold

Shadows leap up in a sportive scare

Laughing at the gleeful tales told

A lone tree stands atop the hill

It’s branches a silhouette

Nothing can ever break the still

Of this peaceful, tranquil night set
