The Night

I come out of my room at night and see you there

Laying back watching Television

I sit on the couch to watch with you,

Enjoying my time with you.

I walk over to you to talk to you, and there it is.

The bottle has ruined my childhood

You know what you did about 4 years ago.

It was then when I saw that very bottle in your hands

The night we left you.

The night when you lost my love

The night you lost your only daughter

The night you lost the respect of your eldest son

The night we left you

All you could say was goodbye just leave

I was only 10 years old. At that moment

You brought a little girl to tears, because

You drank to forget. What you forgot

Was you were hurting your family more by drinking.

So while you drank to forget, we suffered.
