That Night
That night
The earth smelled so rich
And inside I ached.
Loneliness,
Even though so many people
Were laughing.
I was grasping night air
With my fist
And wondering why
I didn’t just cease to exist.
Yesterday
I thought I’d be a
Star.
Somewhere long gone.
But that night ended.
And I lived on.
