At Night

When it is dark I sometimes fear the light

What would occur if it ever lost its might?

In darkness I'd be left without the aid of sight.

When it is day I still fear the night- it comes no matter

How hard I fight.

With sights and sounds that I can't identify

In loneliness I lose my nerve

And feel as helpless as a little girl

Without a shield or make believe sword-

Without jacket against the cold world
