A Night of Firsts

Next to him, I feel my own heart pound His calming persona and reassuring smile remind me why I fell for him I fall all over again that night :) "You look beautiful," he tells me as butterflies flutter throughout my being We walk together, side by side, a perfect couple Ever so slowly his hand slips into mine The warmth of his fingers calm my troubled soul As we walk down the stairs, hand in hand, we write our own fairytale, a story of us He's my Prince Charming and I'm his princess As the Belle of the ball I descend to the floor where in an instant my life changes forever Asking me to dance, he pulls me softly into his embrace My arms wrap 'round his neck as his eyes lock with mine The feeling overwhelms me, as all my wildest dreams begin to come true There's not a care in the world as we float across the floor, two virtuous beings moving as one He sings softly in my ear and I never want to let this moment fly away Our song plays, the lyrics describe our feelings, oh, so beautifully As he holds me there, what that looks in his eyes I feel in total bliss I sense him shake as he leans in, and with tender loving care gently kisses me lips. I love him and I know that he loves me Our secret we share of our night of firsts Of memories that will last forever Of a night I wish to never end.
