The Night of Healing

I am the darkness in your soul You've been clinging to me and me alone I am your fragile shattered heart Broken promises have torn me apart I am your blade so cold Piercing your flesh, still not healing your soul I am a friend who has seen the scars I want to help but feel it would be too hard I am your Father in heaven above Praying one day you'll accept my love I am the book of holy words Tonight you'll read me and finally begin to ease your hurt You bow down at the altar and say “Jesus, take my pain today” So tonight I begin to ease your strife And tonight you throw away your knife
