A Night with Him

He stood there,

The moonlight caressing his pleasant skin.

His eyes gleaming with compassion, he spoke my name,

A voice laced with honey.

I could hear his heart thumping rhythmically against his chest,

Each thump constructing the melody

Of a beautiful song, harmonized with honesty and comfort,

Flowing from his lips.

The way I felt about him

Increased in a matter seconds,

As he held me in his arms,

And whispered those three distinctive words into my ear.

Our souls fused together,

We became one in the same.

A single entity,

Drenched in the downpour of the love we would soon share.

His shattered heart,

Filled with broken promises

And unreciprocated love,

At once became mine.

My wounded past,

Encompassed in tainted tears

And scars left from those before,

He accepted as his own.

Because I loved him,

I trusted him.

Because I loved him,

I confided in him.

Because I loved him,

I gave him my all.

And in return,

I received, and embraced. all of him.

And for that,

He will forever be my one true love.
