Night passing

Mon, 12/11/2017 - 05:48 -- cook53

the trees howl and birds sing songs

cold air and stiff wind cuts into my tired state ripping me slowly into reality with each wave

the sounds of the environment drowned out with the rhythm of solemn sad foot steps one slowly after another

the foot steps are unconscious and innocent

the mind is occupied with deep thought and no understanding

engines roar as when cars pass

jolting me out of my thoughts of nothing and everything

I realize that night has become day this somehow feels fitting

like the way time passes at the start of my day reflects how upside down my life feels

I gaze up and watch the sky change colors slowly but swiftly at the same time

It reminds me of how sporadic emotion feels

positive and negative equally brief and nearly meaningless

Its hard to understand an ocean in motion
