Night Passing
I gaze at the sun as it melts into the ground
The shadows dapple and dance on the mountains
Their peaks, so majestic, don’t make a sound
A blazing color bursts across the sky like tiny fountains
Pinnacles of light create the glowing stars
It seems as if a brush has painted the dimming sky
Suddenly the light fades as if freed from reservoirs
The horizon seems to disappear as the light passes by
The moon climbs the sky with a soft silver glow
The wispy clouds wrap around the galaxy above me
The stars become brighter as if flakes of snow
A rush of cool night breeze is suddenly let free
The night creatures arise and roam around the world
They lurk around with a shifting ebony presence
The tendrils of the constellations have steadily unfurled
The night somehow turns darker with a rippling iridescence
A moment that seemed like an eternity finally ends
The night is now done, has stopped thriving
The blanket of the sky has become an opaque lens
And the day again is appearing, arriving
