Night Rambles

My window is open. I can hear water dibbling, drabbling all over the night. Running Up and Down the alley. Gurgling Little water secrets only known by fish. Bubbling night water, Your language brings me to a place Where dogwood blooms to the delight of dancing creeks, Where pebbles fall from the sky only to hit water And fall quietly, quietly down. Babbling night water, I have heard some of your secrets In the middle of the night When autumn breezes guide flocks of geese through migrations, When the quiet nights is paused for the fleeting conversations of birds. I open my window. Loneliness is a condition easily remedied with the sounds of running water and flying birds.
