A Night Ride
A Night Ride
It goes-
The Car:
A dingy apartment of an inebriated hedonist bloodshot eyes through the peep-hole
The noir rubber strangling of hub-cap mirrors below indifferent feet
The Road:
A conveyor belt of pungent oil and callus concrete
A treadmill too fast to keep pace with
The Keys:
On the other side of the dash
The Sky:
An inky pool dripping down into the staccato cracks and stifling sewers
A reflection
A faint smell of sulfur in the fog
And the Telephone Poles:
Like fishnets to stop you-
In case you decide to Swim;
Obscuring gaze
In case you decide to See-
And-
The Street Lights:
A slow strobe
Momentary clarity
Disorienting
Or so-
It goes-
