The night sky

In many ways he was like the moon
Dark mysterious never showing his full self.
She decided to make it her lifes goal
to find out every [crevice], crater, and dark lake.
His mystery captivated her heart and made her question
her life and what was happening
The moon had always alluded her
She told all her secrets to the moon or
the stars if the moon hid himself away.
It was dangerous to start comparing him to the moon,
For the moon knew all her secrets and could tear her apart.
She knew there was always that chance of being let down,
Brought to tears she showed him her fears,
And like the moon she hid herself too.
More openly than she would like to admit
She wore her heart on her sleeve and never skipped a beat
Her world was open for the taking the moon came to her rescue.
Unlike the she now showed her full self, gave her whole self
The world changed, yet the moon never changing dragged
in the night sky with all her secrets in tow allowing freedom
and clearness in her mind.
Even though by now she has no secrets to keep the moon interested
He stays by her side wanting to know her,
never failing to be there in the night sky, ready for her mind.
So now you can tell how dangerous and scary it can be
To compare him to the moon, because the moon knows her
All of her secrets that she tells late in the night
and he, he has just entered her state of mind.
