The Night Sky

My mind is cluttered

like the dead leaves that fall upon the flowerbeds

It is fall

and I am falling into a relapse

I lost my focus somewhere in the night sky

as the cool wind temps me into the torrid fire

and deranged sounds fill the ambience

while I lie lost in the star’s eyes as they lie

whispering horrid desires

lost and all alone

the universe consumes me

where is my mind

I must’ve lost it in the night sky

I can’t do anything right

as my eyes look aimless upon the television set

and my mouth tingles only for the heat of the hot tea

My skin is entranced by the fervor of the fire

yet my body is left with only emptiness from the cold

as my mind searches for the heat that used to be felt within

where is my life going

I must’ve lost it in the night sky

the darkness of the night

is in my mind

it’s in my thoughts

as the shadow of the night dances around me

I am not myself anymore

I surpassed the phase of desires and infatuation

because I lost my purpose in the night sky

where every star seems like a deluded face

and every satellite is the deceit I used to believe

I am forgotten at the core of the whole universe

as I discover this immense fear

that’s effacing my naiveté

where is my hope

I must’ve lost it in the night sky

as the light is on the other side of the earth

and I am left to find the courage in the whole universe

beyond the darkness in the night sky I see

beyond the chilling pang of the cool wind

and the burning lust of the fire

I must find a light brighter than the stars and my own desire

and life beyond the frozen trees and wallowing sorrow

where is my mind

I must’ve trusted it in the night sky
