Night Time

Night Time As the sunlight continues to slowly die the fireflies dance in the night time sky. The World grows quiet as it’s time for bed the thoughts seem to cease inside my head. I lay my head upon my pillow then I hear a sound come from my window. It’s the sound of a thousand crickets each of them nestled upon the thickets. It’s impossible to sleep now as all my thoughts keep coming back to me somehow. I’m losing friendships with friends the ones I thought would be there till the end. My parents fighting should come to a halt as divorce might be the result. My country is at war with itself with not enough economic wealth. With everyday I do not pray from God I’m falling farther and farther away. The crickets chirping finally ceases the fireflies light slowly decreases. As the final tear rolls from my eye I see the sun slowly arise. ~Ethan DeMuth
